Liposomes are composite structures made of phospholipids which can be made to encapsulate various types of nucleic acids within the aqueous core of the liposome. Liposomes are used for highly efficient delivery of cargo molecules (such as DNA, RNA, protein) into cells in vitro and in vivo.

Altogen Services offer encapsulation of charged molecuIes (such as siRNA, shRNA, microRNA, mRNA, plasmid DNA, protein) into one of the standard liposomes (PC:Cholesterol and DSPC:Cationic Lipid: PEGylated Lipoid:Cholesterol) or into custom liposome formulation.

Sonication and liposome extrusion methods allow to generate liposomes of defined size (from 50 nm to 400 nm particles). Customer should provide at least 0.1 mg of cargo molecule siRNA for liposome encapsulation.
